Key Stage 1 Workshops
Knights and Castles
Learn about life in a Medieval Castle. What
jobs you may have had, what clothes you would have worn and what you may have
had for your lunch in the middle ages.
What did it take to become a Knight? Play
some medieval games, design your own coat
of arms and try some medieval dances.
Pirates
Why did Pirates like Rum? Did they all have wooden legs? Did they really have pet parrots? Find out all of these answers and more. Join the crew of Captain Redmane and learn to sail on the seven seas, build your own pirate ship, dance a hornpipe and fire a cannon.
Great Fire of London
Hear the story of The Great Fire of London from a Merchant who was visiting London in 1666. Learn about how the Fire spread and how it was finally stopped. Can you work out what foods they ate and the clothes they wore? Have a go at learning to write like Samuel Pepys with a feather quill pen before taking part in some drama telling the story of the Great Fire of London.
The Tudors
Spend a day in the Tudor times. Learn how to greet a King or Queen, Dance some Tudor dances, and have a
go at some of Henry VIII's favorite games. Try and work out how a rich and poor Tudor would dress and what foods they might eat.
We can also offer workshops about:
Shakespeare, Highwaymen, Victorian Monster hunters, or why not have a visit from one of our famous characters from History.
